The annual K2 Frank Luzmore Memorial race went ahead as on January 7th 2018, despite the usual cloud of uncertainty a few days beforehand regarding river conditions. The race starts from Elmbridge Canoe Club and finishes at Richmond Canoe Club. There are three portages over the 12 mile course.
Buoyancy aids were essential requirement for all crews who set off gallantly to paddle into a bitter head wind which made the ‘feels like’ temperature 4deg colder.
Well done to all paddlers who participated and particular congratulations to Royal paddler Bea Clark and her partner Amber Cox from Elmbridge who came 1st in U16, and Molly Carter and Ellen Slack who came 2nd in U18.
