Jon Boyton has stepped down from his role as Commodore to pursue fresh avenues in his life.
He has passed the baton onto fellow paddler and current VC Tim Humphries.
Tim says,
I am excited to be taking on the role of Commodore from Jon.
The club is going through an exciting time and has seen great progress in the last few years. Jon has had a large influence on the change in coaching strategy within the club. He has managed to keep competing at an international level as part of Team GB, without compromising his role as Commodore. He has led from the front when racing for his club and been a fantastic role model to all. Jon has been a diplomatic leader; always approachable; open to ideas and good humored.
He still will have an active role in the club heading up the new senior coaching program and will sit on the board as a trustee.
We wish him much success in the future.
