101 countries were represented and it was the first round of Olympic Qualification for Tokyo 2020. Royal’s 3 times Olympian Jessica Walker, being selected as the fastest woman in Great Britain, who’s had a good winters training and great results at the World Cups represented GB in the K1 200m event – one of the most competitive events at the World Championships.
She was 3rd in the B final with 0.02 splitting 1st – 3rd. With a PB under her belt and after an invitation event in Hungary followed by test event in Tokyo in September, she will take a month off and settle into her winter training program for next year and the target of qualification for Tokyo.
